What are Andy's Ski & Ride Guides?
Andy's Ski & Ride Guides are handy pocket sized publications that provide detailed descriptions of each and every run and terrain park in the ski resort, information on ski lifts and helpful tips on getting around the mountain. The most important part of my guide, however, is my rating system. Every skier and rider is probably familiar with the standard ski run difficulty rating system of either Green (Easiest), Blue (Intermediate), Black Diamond (Difficult) or Double Black Diamond (Expert). However, there is no national or international standard for applying these ratings for trails. Each ski resort or ski area determines their own classification system and the trails will be marked relative to other trails at the ski area. There can be a big difference going down a double black diamond in West Virginia compared to Taos, New Mexico.A green at A-Basin may be a black in Vermont. My system is an international rating system that gives readers an idea of the difficulty of the run relative to their skill level.Click here to see my rating system.
Remember that conditions change minute-to-minute so my ratings are a normal average.
Have fun out there and ski safe.
